Venezuela and Saharawi share experiences of fighting for gender equality

The national secretary of the National Union of Saharawi Women (UNMS) and member of the Political Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Chabba Seini Brahim, with members of the national team promoting the “Josefa Joaquina Sánchez” Movement of Movements, held a meeting with the purpose of sharing experiences and advances of the women of the country.
During this official visit by the Saharawi leader, the different laws that exist in Venezuela for the protection of women were addressed; in addition, the recent creation of the Great Mission of Venezuela Women (GMVM), with its seven vertices to serve Venezuelan women in all its stages, says a press release from the Ministry of Popular Power for Women and Gender Equality.
The national secretary of the UNMS, Chabba Seini Brahim, thanked the representatives of the GMVM for the meeting and recognized the hard work that women in the country do. “Venezuela is always in the heart of the Saharawi people, we are two united peoples.”
“We as women learn a lot from Venezuelan women, you are an example for Saharawi women,” she said. In addition, the leader emphasized that women are fighters and stressed that the people of both countries must support each other “so that Venezuelan women are the voice of the Saharawi and we are the voice of Venezuela.”
Finally, the secretary of the top five of the Great Venezuela Women's Mission, Francis Vielma, addressed the impact of the imperialist blockade on women, and announced that more opportunities will come to share experiences between the two countries.
“We are committed to being the voices of Saharawi women, because we are on the right path, we are not wrong. A sovereign, healthy and happy country is only possible with the Bolivarian Revolution,” said Vielma.
