This Saturday, February 22, the Executive Secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), Jorge Arreaza, and the island's Prime Minister, Philip Pierre, held a meeting in Saint Lucia.
After the celebration of the 46th anniversary of the Caribbean nation's independence, Arreaza and Pierre talked about Agroalba, a program promoted by the Alliance to guarantee food sovereignty in the region, the ALBA-TCP website reported.
It also specifies that they also addressed everything related to the 2030 Agenda of the regional block, as well as the agreements of the XII Extraordinary Summit of the ALBA-TCP held in early February of this year in Caracas.
Arreaza and Pierre agreed that the meeting was propitious to reaffirm the unity of the Alliance countries.
After this meeting, Arreaza, through his Instagram account, said that “we had the honor of being received by Prime Minister Philip Pierre to address strategic issues on the ALBA Agenda, such as Agroalba, upcoming ministerial meetings, complementary trade, support for deported migrants, and cooperation in security, risk management and culture.”
