The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, maintained a telephone contact with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities of São Tomé and Príncipe, Iliza Maria dos Santos Amado Vaz, who expressed solidarity with the Venezuelan people after the illegal military attack perpetrated by the United States (USA) on January 3.

“We agree on the importance of our peoples, united, demanding compliance with the UN Charter and international law,” said the Venezuelan diplomat through his Telegram channel.

Gil indicated that the Minister “expressed her solidarity with Venezuela and condemned the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro, who, as Head of State, enjoys immunity, as well as that of the First Combatant, Cilia Flores. In addition, São Tomé and Príncipe supports the position of the African Union in this context,” he added.
