Venezuela and Tajikistan discuss bilateral issues and geopolitical conjunctures

In the context of the 80th session of the
General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), which is taking place in
New York, the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil,
held a constructive dialogue this Friday with his counterpart from Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin.
At the meeting, the diplomats addressed
bilateral issues and geopolitical conjunctures and shared perspectives and commitment
to strengthening international cooperation, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister pointed out on his Telegram channel.
On June 17, as part of her tour of
Central Asia, the Deputy Minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Tatiana Pugh
Moreno, participated in the signing ceremony of the
memorandum of understanding for the establishment of Political Consultations
between the Ministry of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian
Republic of Venezuela
Republic of Tajikistan.
The Central Asian country was represented by the First
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasredín Ismatulo, who expressed his
deep joy at holding Tajikistan's first political consultations with a Latin American country.
On January 31, President Emomali Rahmon received
Credentials from Venezuelan Ambassador Christopher Martínez Berroterán.
Both countries established diplomatic relations on
October 5, 2005. In September 2022, they signed an agreement to abolish
the visa requirement for holders of diplomatic and service passports.
