The women's national soccer team tied Chile to zero at the Metropolitan Stadium of Cabudare, Lara state, at the start of the Conmebol Nations League.

The scheduled match was the beginning of the qualifying process for the World Cup Brazil 2026, in what would be the first historic participation of the Venezuelan team in an orbital event.

The Nations League is played in a round-robin format, with nine rounds and unique matches. Each date includes four matches, while one selection is left free. Brazil is not participating in this phase because it has secured its qualification as host.

In addition to the duel between Venezuela and Chile, the first day included the Bolivian vs. Ecuador in El Alto, Colombia vs. Peru in Medellin and Argentina vs. Paraguay in Buenos Aires.
