The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago signed seven documents this Wednesday in Caracas under the framework of Licenses for Exploration and Exploitation of Non-Associated Gaseous Hydrocarbons for the Cocuina Field of the Deltana Platform.

The activity was led by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, accompanied by the Minister of People's Power for Petroleum, Pedro Rafael Tellechea; and the Minister of Energy and Energy Industries Trinidad and Tobago, Richard Young.

“Today is a historic day. In 2007, Commander Hugo Chávez envisioned this signature and called on the brothers of Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela to unify the necessary criteria, which are the unified deposits between the borders of both countries. Nine years later, 2015, you (President Maduro) once again grabbed the baton and the necessary agreements were reached to unify the deposits and today we are materializing it,” said Minister Tellechea from the Miraflores Palace.

For his part, Minister Stuart thanked, on behalf of the Trinidadian Government, the Venezuelan Head of State for making possible this important alliance between the two sister peoples.

Below are the signed documents:

Act of Approval Concerning the Functional and Governance Structure for the Operation of the Manakin-Cocuina Field Area Unit

Agreement on the Execution Deadlines of the Manakin-Cocuina Area Unit

Authorization Agreement for the Fiscal Measurement of Production of the Cocuina Field of the Deltana Platform between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago

License for the Exploration and Exploitation of Non-Associated Gaseous Hydrocarbons in the Cocuina Field of the Deltana Platform

Assumption of Obligations by Licensees, within the framework of the granting of the License for the Exploration and Exploitation of Non-Associated Gaseous Hydrocarbons in the Cocuina Field of the Deltana Platform

Base Terms Sheet on Volumetric Distribution and Pricing Applicable to Contracts for the Sale of Gas from the Cocuina Field of the Deltana Platform, which Licensees NGC Exploration and Production Limited, Verlier Quan-Vie; and David Campbell, Director of BP Exploration (Caribbean) Limited, will sign with their buyers from the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago
