Venezuela and Türkiye hold 6th Political Consultation Mechanism

This Monday, at the Casa Amarilla Antonio José de Sucre, in Caracas, the VI Political Consultation Mechanism was held between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Republic of Türkiye, to review joint cooperation in various strategic areas.

The Venezuelan delegation was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Europe and North America, Andrea Corao; while the Turkish representation was led by the Director General for the Americas and the Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Yaprak Balkan.

During the meeting, the parties held an extensive exchange on various issues on the bilateral, regional and international agenda, and examined the current state of binational relations, in addition to exploring perspectives for the development and strengthening of cooperation in multiple spheres.

Caracas and Ankara reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening political dialogue and reinvigorating economic, commercial and financial relations. The authorities also reiterated their mutual support in the face of global challenges.

Venezuela and Türkiye established diplomatic relations in 1950, deepened with the arrival of Commander Hugo Chávez to the Presidency of the Republic, after which they acquired high-level status, with alliances in areas such as defense, mining, energy, air and maritime transport, as well as in the economy, youth and sports, trade, finance, security, education, culture, science and technology, tourism, fishing and aquaculture, communication, agriculture, industry and health.
