The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, met this Tuesday with the Director General of the Office of the United Nations in Geneva (UN Geneva), Tatiana Valovaya, to strengthen communication and joint work.

“The multilateral system is hijacked by bureaucrats who have made human rights a business, a weapon of political blackmail at the service of dark interests,” he criticized during his speech on Monday.

The Russian Tatiana Valovaya is the first woman to hold the position of director general of the UN Office Geneva, appointed by the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, on May 30, 2019. The senior official has more than 35 years of experience in diplomacy, journalism and government service.
