The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs proposed at the extraordinary summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) to discuss the necessary institutional mechanisms under the supervision of the organization's Temporary Presidency, to comply with the establishment of broken international legality and Venezuela may have its president Nicolás Maduro back to exercise the constitutional mandate granted to it by the people.
The Foreign Minister asserted that, despite being illegally kidnapped, Constitutional President Nicolás Maduro Moros is still the Head of State in full office.
In this regard, Gil reiterated that the Bolivarian Government demands the immediate and unconditional release of the national leader as well as of the First Combatant, Cilia Flores.
He asserted that Venezuela is at peace, and there is a constitutional president Nicolás Maduro Moros who, although today he is illegally kidnapped in the United States, remains the Head of State in full office.
“The Venezuelan people are united, there is a solid popular military and police fusion, and that is a guarantee of stability. Venezuela is fighting for peace, but it is prepared to defend its dignity, its sovereignty and its future,” he said.
Regarding the statements of the Secretary of the United States, Marco Rubio, he emphasized that it is important for CELAC to assume that Venezuela is still under threat and siege, that an immediate re-establishment of international legality be required, which involves the immediate withdrawal of all military forces from the Caribbean that threatens peace in the region and for calling for and corroborating the release of President Nicolás Maduro.
