Venezuela attends the Conference on Science, Innovation and Information Technology in Colombia

The 4th Meeting of the Conference on Science, Innovation and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), organized by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), began this Thursday, April 4th in Bogotá, Colombia and has the participation of 23 Caribbean delegations.

The Venezuelan delegation is led by the Deputy Minister of Research and Generation of Scientific Knowledge of the Ministry of People's Power for Science and Technology (MINCYT), Francisco Durán, who ratified Venezuela's commitment to contributing innovative solutions and strengthening regional cooperation, the aforementioned ministerial body described in his account of the social network X.

During the meeting, strategies will be established and fields will be identified to collaborate, aimed at creating a regional agenda for the years 2024-2025, and the main focus will be “science, technology and innovation (STI) as pillars of productive development”.

He also noted that “through our contribution, we can provide innovative solutions to address global challenges and protect our planet.”

He also emphasized the importance of using the platform offered by ECLAC to strengthen regional cooperation and promote policies that promote sustained development.
