Venezuela defeated Uruguay in its debut in the U19 Women's South American Volleyball Championship

The Venezuelan national team defeated Uruguay 3 sets to 0 in their debut in the South American Women's U19 Volleyball Championship, which is held in Maracaibo, Zulia state.

The national team secured the victory with final partials of 25-9, 25-17 and 25-14. The most valuable player of the match was the Venezuelan Yaleska Colina.

This victory leaves Venezuela as the leader of the group A standings, along with Peru and both teams with 3 points.

For their part, group B is also led by Argentina and Brazil with 3 goals each.

This Thursday at the facilities of the Pedro Elías Belisario Aponte Gymnasium, located in the city of Maracaibo, at eight o'clock in the evening, the Criollas will face Peru in what will be their second match in the cup.

Venezuela is part of group A together with Peru, Chile and Uruguay, while group B is made up of Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia and Ecuador.

The top two finishers in each group will compete in the semifinals.

This tournament awards 3 direct qualification places to the 2027 FIVB Under-19 World Championship, for champion (gold), runner-up (silver) and third place (bronze).
