This Tuesday, the Deputy Minister of Europe, of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Coromoto Godoy Calderón, on behalf of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, delivered a note of protest to the Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Caracas for posting a disrespectful image of the National Flag on her social networks.

The information was released by Deputy Minister Godoy, through a post on her account on the social network X, in which she described as “unacceptable” the fact that a “diplomatic representative ignores his duty to respect the National Symbols of Venezuela”.

He also explained that the protest note is due to the publication on social networks of “a photograph carrying a Venezuelan flag without the eighth star, that of Guiana, that of the Essequibo”.

On March 9, 2006, the National Assembly (AN), at the initiative of Commander Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías, and in explanation of the proposal put forward by the first combatant Cilia Flores, a deputy at the time, approved the inclusion of an eighth star in the Venezuelan Flag in order for the Liberator Simon Bolivar to represent the province of Guayana in it.
