Venezuela denounced the United States to the UN Security Council for violating sovereignty

The foreign minister, Yván Gil , reported that Venezuela has denounced to the Security Council of the United Nations (UN) the imperial threat of seeking to appropriate the oil and resources that belong to the Venezuelan people.

Through a communication sent, the Caribbean nation assures that the President of the United States , Donald Trump, “is violating our national sovereignty with impunity before the entire world.”

Today, the United States is not hiding its ambition: it wants to seize the world's largest oil reserve. Venezuela stands firm, united and standing , defending its independence, its dignity and its inalienable right to decide its own destiny, with the truth, historical reason and resistance of a people that will continue to advance in perpetual victory.

Gil added that Venezuela requested an urgent meeting of the Security Council to re-establish international law and make the Charter of the United Nations prevail.
