The alternate ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the United Nations (UN), Joaquín Pérez, presented the Russian ambassador to the multilateral body and current president of the Security Council, Vasily Alekseyevich Nebenzya, a communication denouncing the illegal incursion of combat aircraft from the United States (USA) approximately 75 kilometers away off the coasts of the Latin American country.

This was reported by Foreign Minister Yván Gil through his Telegram channel, where he noted that the action, which occurred on October 2, “not only represents a threat to our national sovereignty, but also contravenes the rules of international law and the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation.”

He said that this new provocation perpetrated by the U.S. government “adds to the growing militarization of the Caribbean, which constitutes clear harassment of Venezuela,” under the false narrative of “fighting” against drug trafficking.
