Venezuela explores new mechanisms to strengthen ties with OPEC

The Minister of the People's Power of Petroleum and President of Petroleum of Venezuela (PDVSA), Rafael Tellechea, reported that he held a meeting in Algiers with the Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Haitham Al Ghais, with whom “we evaluated the current situation of the oil market and the energy industry”.
Through his account on the social network X, he noted that “we held a fruitful meeting with the Secretary General of OPEC, Haitham Al Ghais”, within the framework of the VII Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries (GECF).
He stressed that at the meeting, “we explored new mechanisms to strengthen ties between the organization and Venezuela.”
For its part, in its account of the social network X, OPEC states that “the meeting highlighted the positive role that Venezuela plays in OPEC issues and explored ways to strengthen ties between the Organization and Venezuela.”
“The evolution of the global oil market, as well as key issues related to the energy industry, were discussed,” he said.
