The Foreign Trade Company (EMCOEX) exported 161 tons of Venezuelan green coffee to the United States (USA), from the dry port of Barquisimeto, in the state of Lara.

The operation, registered as number 328, was supervised by the governor of the entity, Luis Reyes Reyes, accompanied by the governor's Secretary of Economic Development, Tomás Elías Reyes, and the president of EMCOEX, Juan Carlos Romero.

Reyes Reyes highlighted the continuity of these activities as an engine for the local economy. “We are witnessing the departure of 161 tons of coffee, distributed in seven containers, bound for the United States,” said the regional president after assuring that the export “allows international consumers to enjoy the quality of Venezuelan coffee, reflecting the regional government's commitment to economic development and the opening of markets.”

He also stated that this shipment underlines the success of EMCOEX and represents a significant boost for the economy of Lara and the nation, consolidating the presence of the Venezuelan product in the North American market.

He noted that to ensure compliance with all international standards, the loading and verification process involved the active participation of the “export horseshoe”, made up of representatives from Insai, Resguardo, Anti-Drug, Seniat and Customs Agents.
