Venezuela expressed solidarity with Türkiye after fire at Kartalkaya tourist complex

The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, on behalf of the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, expressed his regret on Tuesday for the fire that occurred at the Grand Kartal Hotel, in Kartalkaya, Türkiye, which left more than 66 people dead and dozens injured.

“We stand in solidarity with the Turkish people and government at this time of mourning, sending our sincerest condolences to the families of the victims and our wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured,” said the Foreign Minister through his Telegram channel.

In this regard, he reiterated his “fraternal support to the Government of Türkiye in this difficult time, certain that strength and unity will prevail to overcome this tragedy”.

The fire at the resort, northwest of Türkiye, began around 3:30am. More than 300 people from various institutions participated in the mitigation efforts.
