Venezuela expresses condolences to the Government of the DPRK of Korea for the death of leader Kim Yong-nam

The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, on behalf of the People and Government of Venezuela, expressed his deepest condolences to the People and Government of the Democratic People's Republic (DPR) of Korea for the death of Kim Yong-nam.

“We pay tribute to a strong leader in the defense of the sovereignty and self-determination of peoples, whose legacy strengthens friendship between our nations,” Gil said in a message released through his Telagram channel.

In this regard, he ratified the Bolivarian Government's support for “President Kim Jong-un and the heroic Korean people, reaffirming our commitment to continue consolidating relations of friendship and cooperation.”

Kim Yong-nam, who was president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea between 1998 and 2019, died Monday at the age of 97 after suffering a cancerous multiple organ collapse.
