The Venezuelan Bolivarian Government informed Trinidad and Tobago about the CIA-led false flag operation , Foreign Minister Yván Gil said on his Telegram account.

In the publication, Gil specified that: attacking a U.S. military ship stationed on that island and then blaming Venezuela, to justify aggression against our country. It's the same imperial script as the ship Maine and the Gulf of Tonkin: fabricating a conflict to impose foreign interests on our region.
In this regard, he clarified that the nation acts with firmness and responsibility: “a criminal cell funded by the CIA linked to this covert operation is being dismantled in our territory. We hope that Trinidad and Tobago will do the same and will not allow its territory to be used for maneuvers that threaten peace in the Caribbean.”
He also reiterated respect “for the people of Trinidad and Tobago and we trust in their conscience to prevent their country from being dragged into a dirty war operation” and urged Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar to assume her “responsibility to the Caribbean and to history: either she stands on the side of peace or she sinks into the CIA agenda”.
