Venezuela is 1-2 in the 100m butterfly with gold and silver medals from Manuel Díaz and Jorge Otaiza

Venezuelan swimming experienced a golden day after the athletes Manuel Díaz and Jorge Otaiza dazzled with their talent in the 100-meter butterfly event, winning gold and silver medals, respectively, at the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games.
With a time of 52.45 Díaz won the gold metal and with 52.91 Otaiza the silver one, the podium was completed by Dylan Carter from Trinidad and Tobago with 52.99 (bronze).
This is the thirteenth gold medal for Venezuela in the Central American Championship, which allows it to consolidate itself in fourth place in the overall medal table of the competition, in addition to 24 silver and 43 bronze for a total of 80 accumulated medals.
