Venezuela is appointed as a member of the regional group in the IAEA Board of Governors

Venezuela was designated as a member of the regional group for Latin America and the Caribbean on the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for the period 2024-2026.
The information
was shared by the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván
Gil, on his Telegram channel, in which he expressed his satisfaction with the decision.
“We
are pleased to announce that, during the 68th General Conference of the
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) held in Vienna,
Venezuela has been appointed as a member of the regional group for Latin America and the Caribbean on the IAEA
Board of Governors for the period 2024-2026,” he wrote.
He also
noted that Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy proudly assumes this role, with
the objective of continuing to promote the use of technologies and nuclear energy for peace
and human development.
According to information published on the official website of the IAEA, the Board of Governors is one of the two governing bodies of the block and examines the financial statements, the program and the budget. In addition, it makes recommendations in this regard to the General Conference.
