Venezuela is getting closer to the women's under-20 world cup after beating Peru 6-1

Venezuela thrashed Peru 6-1 on Monday and came close to this year's FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia, while its rival added their third defeat in the final hexagonal of the South American Women's Championship in the Ecuadorian city of Guayaquil.

With three doubles from Floriángel Apóstol (at 22:90+5), Mariana Barreto (48-71) and Marianyela Jiménez (60-78), Venezuela recovered after two defeats and is in fifth place, with 3 points and 2 in its goal difference.

Peru will face Paraguay next Thursday, while the Venezuelan players will face the Argentine national team.
