Venezuela is present at the 34th edition of the Forum of New Cinema 2024 in India

34th edition of the International Forum for New Cinema 2024 in Calcutta

With the feature film “An Inner Flash”, directed by brothers Luis and Andrés Rodríguez, Venezuela is participating in the 34th edition of the International Forum for New Cinema 2024 in Calcutta, India.

According to information from Venezolana de Televisión, the activity is part of the cultural agenda promoted by the Embassy of Venezuela in the Republic of India, in coordination with the National Distributor Amazonia Films and the Villa del Cine Foundation.

The Venezuelan film that tells the story of Silvia has been present at important international events, such as the Moscow Film Festival and the Kimolos International Festival in Greece, and has won multiple awards such as: Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actress and was also nominated to be nominated for the Oscars for Best International Film, starring the award-winning actress Jericó Montilla

Ambassador Capaya Rodríguez pointed out that it is a production of the Villa del Cine Foundation, which exemplifies the successful policies of the Bolivarian Government in the cinematographic field, which guarantees the excellence of film works and joint work for excellent quality national cinema.

The film meeting, dedicated to the exhibition of independent world and Indian films, was held at the Rammohun Library Hall in the city of Calcutta, organized by the Central Calcutta Film Association; the largest film society in the state of West Bengal. This edition includes the participation of films from the Philippines, Iran, Bangladesh, Mexico, Germany, France, Uzbekistan, India and Venezuela.
