Venezuela makes debut against Paraguay in the FIBA U-17 Men's South American Championship

The national team that will represent Venezuela in the 2025 FIBA U-17 Men's South American Championship to be held in Asunción, Paraguay, from December 10 to 14, is ready for its debut against the Guarani hosts.

The national team traveled to Paraguay this Sunday, December 07, after a preparation in Caracas that consisted of 50 training sessions and 13 blank games.

Format, schedule and transmission
In the group stage, each team will face the rest of its group rivals once. The first two teams will advance to the semifinals, and those that finish in third and fourth place in the group will play the reclassification from fifth to eighth place. The first three teams of the South American U17 will qualify for the 2026 FIBA Under-18 Men's AmeriCup.
Venezuela is in group B, along with Paraguay, Brazil and Chile. Group A is made up of Uruguay, Ecuador, Colombia and Argentina. From December 10 to 12, the group stage will be played; semifinals on 13/12 and final day on Sunday 14/12.
Venezuela's group stage schedule is as follows:
Paraguay vs Venezuela — Wednesday, December 10 — 7:00 p.m. (FRIDAY time).
Venezuela vs Brazil — Thursday, December 11 — 4:30 p.m. (FRIDAY time).
Chile vs Venezuela — Friday, December 12 — 4:30 p.m. (Fri time).
