Venezuela obtains its first gold medal in the Grand Winner of karate 2025 (+Colombia)

The Venezuelan delegation present Grand Winner of Karate 2025 in Zipaquirá, Colombia, won 15 medals on its first day of participation, divided into 1 gold, 5 silver and 9 bronze medals.

Ricardo Pérez won the first gold medal for Venezuela, in the Senior Men's Kata.

Pérez was accompanied on the podium by Hernan Amaya from Colombia and Fernando Zambrano also from Venezuela, who ranked second and third respectively.

For their part, the Venezuelan women's kata team, made up of Amelia Mendoza, María Isabella Piovoso and Isabella López, won the silver one.

So did the men's team at Kemsen Kumite, a senior men's team made up of Alan Miquelena, Edgar Martínez, Elias Korban, Freddy Valera, Gabriel Torrealba, Juan Cubero and Wilmer Pérez.

Jhonny Crespo at KU02 Kumite Senior Masc -67.kg; Elias Korban at KU03 Kumite Senior Masc -75.kg and Edgar Martinez at KU04 Kumite Senior Masc -84.kg also won silver.

Meanwhile, Fernando Zambrano, Luis Agostini and Victoria Hernández, won three bronze medals, in Senior Men's Kata and Senior Women's Kata, respectively.

They also won bronze: Samuel Benjamín in KU01 Kumite Senior Masc -60.kg; Eulimar Linares in KU07 Kumite Senior Fem -55.kg; Gunther Salaya in KU03 Kumite Senior Masc -75.kg; Luis Vasquez in KU04 Kumite Senior Masc -84.kg and Edgar Chavez in KU05 Kumite Senior Masc +84.kg.

The Venezuelan women's team, made up of Antonella Betancourt, Christian Castro, Eulimar Linares, Karla Cruces and Taycruz Hernández, also rose to third place on the podium in the Kefsen Kumite Senior Women's team.
