Venezuela is positioned as the epicenter of innovation at the ShowColat Festival, the first “Bean to Bar” Fair, which takes place in Bordeaux, France, where it participates as a country of honor.
For the first time, cocoa producers and chocolatiers in the Bolivarian nation demonstrate in a single block the sovereign knowledge behind each grain, the Minister of Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, said through her channel on the Telegram platform.
The Venezuelan delegation is represented by the vice-minister and president of the National Center for Cocoa Research, Development and Innovation (CENIDIC), Carmen Virginia Liendo, who announced how Venezuela uses its technological knowledge to strengthen and protect cocoa.
“It is very exciting to be able to bring together in one place cocoa producers from different areas of the country, such as Miranda, Mérida, Barinas, Aragua, Carabobo; all gathered to show that Venezuelan cocoa maintains export quality, since many of the countries present use our sector to create their products,” said the minister.
Jiménez explained that with this participation, the nation “shows progress with the program of mass seed production through the targeted pollination of cacao flowers, through which more than 100,000 certified seeds of high genetic quality have already been produced.”
