The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, participates this Thursday in the XXIX Ordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Association of Caribbean States (AEC), which is being held in Paramaribo, capital of Suriname.
“During this meeting, we will discuss the role of the AEC in regional issues, as well as the strengthening of the organization and its special committees,” the Venezuelan diplomat reported through his account on the social network X.
On Wednesday, the Preparatory Meeting was held prior to the XXIX Council of Ministers to deepen technical cooperation with the countries and organizations of the Greater Caribbean.
In 2023, during the 9th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the AEC, held in Guatemala, Venezuela received the solidarity of its member countries with respect to the unilateral coercive measures that do so much harm to the country, as well as to the cooperation projects it promotes in the region in the area of economic and social development.
The AEC is the organization for consultation, cooperation and concerted action in the field of trade, transport, sustainable tourism and natural disasters in the Greater Caribbean.
