In an exciting match played at the Jaraguay stadium in Montería, in Colombia, the under-17 teams of Venezuela and Uruguay tied for 2 goals, with which La Vinotinto qualified for the World Cup in Qatar 2025.

Ecuador's loss to Brazil left the eleventh Venezuelan second in group B and with a ticket to the World Cup, despite not winning against the Uruguayans.

This is the third time in history that the Venezuelan under-17 soccer team has managed to qualify for the World Cup in this category. Under the technical direction of Rafael Dudamel, after reaching the runner-up in the 2013 South American Championship in Argentina, the Vinotinto U17 secured its first participation in a World Cup.

Venezuela's second qualification to an Under-17 World Cup came in the 2023 South American Under-17 Championship in Ecuador. The Venezuelan team, led by Argentinian Ricardo Valiño, managed to secure its place in the World Cup tournament, once again demonstrating the talent and ability of young Venezuelan soccer players.
