The Venezuelan figure skater, Camila Cabanzo, secured the first place of the Creole delegation in the final stages of the prestigious Arena Geisingen competition in Germany this Thursday.
The native of Barinas demonstrated her high competitive level in the dobbin sprint modality, standing out in an event that brings together the global elite of the discipline.
In the qualifying round, Cabanzo recorded the third fastest time in the youth category, stopping the clock at 15,766 seconds. This mark allowed him to rank among the top five in the table, meeting the tournament's requirement to advance to the decisive phase.
The Venezuelan was only surpassed by the Ecuadorian Ambar León and the Spanish Angélica Rosero, who in turn narrowly outperformed the representatives of Italy and Spain who completed the list of finalists.
Cabanzo's outstanding performance is not fortuitous, since the athlete has a solid career on this international stage. Her record highlights the two titles as absolute speed champion won in the 2024 edition, where she led the 200 and 500 meter races, the Ministry of People's Power for Sport said in a press release.
With this background, the woman from Barinas is once again emerging as one of the strongest contenders to climb the podium in European territory.
