“During the Summit of Amazonian Countries in Bogotá, Venezuela shared its vast experience in eradicating illegal mining and deforestation in our Amazon Basin and reaffirmed President Nicolás Maduro's commitment to strengthening regional collaboration to ensure the preservation of the Amazon and sending a strong message to the world about our fight against climate change”

This was stated by the Ministers of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, in relation to the advances and challenges faced by the countries of the Amazon basin and the need for regional union to ensure the preservation of the world's plant lungs in the face of the ravages caused by climate change.
