Venezuela reaffirms its willingness to gradually normalize diplomatic relations with the Dominican Republic

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Félix Plasencia González, held a meeting this Thursday with the Foreign Minister of the Dominican Republic, Víctor Bisonó, within the framework of the 41st Session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) held in Santiago de los Caballeros, with the purpose of advancing the progressive reestablishment of bilateral ties.

“We appreciate the warm welcome provided by the Dominican People and Government, as well as their willingness to contribute to the reconstruction of the historic ties that unite both countries,” Foreign Minister Plasencia said during the working meeting with the authorities of the host country.

The representative of Venezuelan diplomacy heads the national delegation participating in the United Nations multilateral forum, whose activities will take place in the Dominican city until this Friday, October 9.
