Venezuela is increasingly consolidating its ties of cooperation with different organizations worldwide in the field of space research, as reported by the Deputy Minister for the Development of Information and Communication Technologies of the Ministry for Science and Technology, Raúl Hernández.

During the installation of the 1st International Space Congress, which is taking place in Caracas, Hernández noted that the country is focused on new scientific, technological and space challenges.

“We are actively participating and cooperating in deep space projects in order to consolidate and establish the foundations for what will be the future of these technologies such as artificial intelligence,” he said.

In addition, according to a press release from the Ministry of Science and Technology, he highlighted the visit of specialists from China, Russia and Brazil, with whom they have worked on satellite navigation systems.

“This is a very important step that we are taking. We have installed some stations for receiving data from the Glonass system and we are planning to have other facilities nationwide in the future,” he said.

Raúl Hernández stressed that through the policy implemented by the Bolivarian Government, major projects will be given continuity.

“These are examples of brotherly ties that we are going to be promoting under the leadership of our president Nicolás Maduro,” he said.

The Deputy Minister for the Development of Information and Communication Technologies stressed that since 2005, through the Bolivarian Agency for Space Activities (ABAE), it has been cooperating with China in the development of projects. Examples of these are the satellites placed in orbit: Simon Bolivar, Sucre and Miranda.

The 1st International Space Congress takes place as part of the 18th anniversary of ABAE, which day after day is continuously training in space technology through the training of its technical staff, the creation of educational programs and international collaboration.
