Venezuela receives 70 tons of humanitarian aid from the United Arab Emirates

A flight from the United Arab Emirates carrying 70 tons of humanitarian aid supplies arrived at Simón Bolívar International Airport, in La Guaira, in order to treat those affected by the double earthquake of last June 24.
The shipment consists of medical supplies, specifically orthopedic, and material destined for the 107 temporary camps that serve more than 20,000 people.
“The entire National Government, representing the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, is extremely grateful for this shipment of humanitarian aid from the United Arab Emirates,” said Andrea Corao, Deputy Minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, during the reception of the flight.
The reception was also attended by the Deputy Minister for Industrial Development and Commerce of the Ministry of People's Power for Industries and National Commerce, Inder Romero; and staff from the Ministry of People's Power for Health.
In this regard, the chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Caracas, Tariq Ahmad Hassan, assured that “with this gesture, the United Arab Emirates reaffirms its solidarity with the Venezuelan people at this difficult time. We will continue to work hand in hand with the Venezuelan authorities to support the recovery of affected areas.”
“This humanitarian shipment is in addition to the dozens of donations that Venezuela has received for 20 days from the international community, in addition to thousands of rescuers to support the relief work carried out by national institutions and volunteers,” said the Foreign Ministry.
