The Minister of Tourism, Leticia Gómez, held a strategic meeting with the Venezuelan ambassador to Spain, Gladys Gutiérrez, with the purpose of refining the sector's international agenda. The meeting served to coordinate the participation of the Venezuelan delegation in the Ibero-American Conference of Ministers and Entrepreneurs of Tourism (Cimet), an event that represents a key opportunity to position the country's attractions before the main players in the global tourism market.

The 29th edition of the Cimet will take place on Tuesday, January 20, under the organization of the NEXO Group, which will hold the honorary presidency of King Felipe VI and will bring together ministers from almost twenty Ibero-American nations. During the day, government representatives and businessmen will seek to strengthen business ties and promote new investment routes under the direction of publisher Eugenio de Quesada.

In parallel, as reported by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the 13th Exceltur Tourism Leadership Forum will take place, which this year uses the motto “Governing Our Future: For Tourism that Counts”. This space will analyze the historical results of Spain in 2025, where the sector achieved revenues of 220 billion euros. However, the debate will focus on the need for a model that does not depend on the massive influx of visitors, but on quality and social commitment.

The agenda includes the regeneration of mature destinations and the efficient management of traveler flows to improve the acceptance of this industry in society. Venezuela will take advantage of these spaces to adopt best practices and promote a profitable and sustainable tourism model for its regions.
