Venezuela registers record electricity demand of 15,625 megawatts

The National Government reported that, this Monday, August 10 at 2:44 p.m., Venezuela registered the highest electricity demand so far in 2026, reaching 15,625 megawatts (MW), a figure that represents the highest level recorded in the last eight years.

According to the records, this demand behavior represents an increase of 3.6% compared to the maximum recorded in 2025, as a result of the high temperatures recorded in the country and the economic growth that maintains its momentum.

Faced with this scenario, the Ministry of People's Power for Electric Energy (MPPEE) and the National Electric Corporation (Corpoelec) are constantly monitoring the facilities that make up the National Electric System (SEN), as well as carrying out stabilization tasks to ensure a continuous and balanced supply.

In the same way, the National Executive urges citizens to participate consciously in the use of electrical energy, in order to mitigate the consequences of the El Niño phenomenon in the country.
