The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and Minister of Popular Power for Hydrocarbons, Delcy Rodríguez, rejected this Thursday the decision of the Government of the United States (USA) to rescind the oil agreement between the two nations, dated November 26, 2022.
Through his Telegram channel, Rodríguez pointed out that the US Government made “an injurious and inexplicable decision; by announcing sanctions against the American company Chevron, intending to harm the Venezuelan people, in reality harm is being inflicted on the United States, its population, and its companies, also calling into question the legal security of the United States in its international investment regime.”
He reiterated the repudiation of the Bolivarian Government and the Venezuelan People regarding “this type of action publicly requested by the country's extremist and failed opposition. Venezuela highlights that these types of failed actions drove migration from 2017 to 2021, with the consequences that are widely known.”
“Venezuela will continue its path of comprehensive economic recovery, guaranteeing it with the creative efforts of all and in absolute attachment to its sovereignty and national independence. As one of the liberators of South America, José Gervasio Artigas, said: 'let's not expect anything but ourselves, '” he said.
