This Friday, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela categorically rejected the new pronouncement of the Government of Guyana,
with which it “reveals its status as a pawn of obscure imperial interests and of Exxon Mobil”.
In a statement, released by Foreign Minister Yván Gil
on Telegram, the Bolivarian Government stressed that “this is a ridiculous
provocation that hides the truth”, and that it “seeks to sow instability in the
Caribbean and Latin America, supporting its failed attempt to strip Venezuela of Esequiba Guiana”.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela firmly rejects the
infamous communiqué of the Guyanese government, a miserable text that reveals its
status as a pawn of obscure imperial interests and Exxon Mobil.
This is a ridiculous provocation that hides the truth:
Guyana has renounced its sovereignty for a few corrupt currencies and has
become a kneeling and submissive government, willing to betray the dignity of its own people.
This maneuver seeks to sow instability in the Caribbean and Latin
America, supporting their failed attempt to strip Venezuela of Guiana Essequiba.
That plan will fail. The only legitimate way to resolve the
dispute is the Geneva Agreement of 1966, and historical truth
will prevail, for which Venezuela will use all the means and tools
granted to it by international law.
The Venezuelan people will not be intimidated. Guyana must
respect legality and its international commitments, or it will be marked by
the ignominy of having betrayed regional peace and sold its sovereignty.
