The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, this Monday, December 1st, issued a statement, in which it expresses its rejection of the statements made by the Deputy Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Mame Mandiaye Niang, within the framework of the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute that is taking place in the city of The Hague, the Netherlands.

The statement was published by the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, on his account on the social network Telegram, in which he argued that “the ICC prosecutor justifies legal colonialism against Venezuela while ignoring the genocide of Israel.”

The above-mentioned letter highlights that Venezuela “has been linked in good faith with the ICC Prosecutor's Office in a process that clearly does not fit the assumptions provided for in the Rome Statute, but which seeks to satisfy the anti-Venezuela agenda promoted by hegemonic centers.”
