The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela has formally requested an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council, in the face of the serious escalation of aggression and unprecedented military deployment of the United States in the Caribbean.

The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, informed through his account on the social network Telegram that the request is addressed to Ambassador Vassily A. Nebenzia, President of the Security Council.

Gil points out that the letter “warns that the actions of the U.S. UU. in recent weeks, which include missile destroyers, warplanes, elite troops and a nuclear submarine near the Venezuelan coast, clearly endanger the Zone of Peace in Latin America and the Caribbean.”
