Venezuela stands in solidarity with China after a strong earthquake in Tibet (+statement)

In a statement, released by Foreign Minister Yván Gil, this Tuesday the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expressed solidarity with the People and Government of China after the strong earthquake of magnitude 6.8 that shook the vicinity of the border between the Asian giant and Nepal, in the autonomous region of Tibet (Xizang), Dingri district, with its epicenter in the town of Tsogo.

At least 95 people died from the earthquake, according to official reports. The China Seismological Administration activated a level II emergency response protocol and sent a task force to carry out the rescue efforts.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expresses its deepest solidarity with the People's Republic of China, the people of the autonomous region of Xizang and President Xi Jinping, following the devastating earthquake of magnitude 6.8 that occurred in the municipality of Tsogo, in Dingri County, this Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

Venezuela, a tried and tested strategic partner of the People's Republic of China, stands side by side with the Chinese people and extends its willingness to cooperate and provide support in whatever areas are needed in this difficult time.
