Venezuela Tech Week 2026 promotes innovation and business ecosystem

At the Bolivar Park Convention Center, in La Carlota, the second International Congress of Entrepreneurs - Venezuela Tech Week 2026 began, a space that brings together national entrepreneurs, as well as more than 700 leaders, experts and visionaries from various countries with the purpose of strengthening the Venezuelan business ecosystem and promoting new opportunities for innovation.
During the opening of the event, the sector vice-president of Economy and Finance, Calixto Ortega, said that, over the past few weeks, the Venezuelan Government has maintained a permanent dialogue with international partners and private sector actors, with the objective of supporting its operations and strengthening national economic activity.
In addition, he said that Venezuela is open for business, with clear rules and a favorable environment for investment. “We are convinced that Venezuela has the potential to rank among the largest economies in Latin America in the next decade. With the support of our international partners, we will achieve this rise faster than expected,” he said.
For his part, the Minister of Popular Power for Youth, Sergio Lotartaro, stressed that the large international participation in the event demonstrates the growing global interest in Venezuelan talent.
“More than 50 countries decided to come and meet us and find out what is being done in Venezuela in the area of entrepreneurship. Here are the top 60 projects that today show the creative and productive capacity of our youth,” he said.
In this regard, the Minister of the People's Power of Economy, Finance and Foreign Trade, Anabel Pereira Fernández, stressed that the country has highly trained human capital, competitive on a global scale and with extraordinary potential to lead new industries.
He also highlighted that the new national economic horizon integrates sectors such as the digital economy, financial innovation, artificial intelligence and technological industries, consolidating entrepreneurship as a strategic policy for national development.
Venezuelan entrepreneurs
During the day, the president and founder of Ridery, Gerson Gómez, shared his experience as a Venezuelan entrepreneur and highlighted the importance of resilience as an engine of growth.
“Entrepreneurship is a path of great resistance, of a lot of resilience. It's not a linear path; it's full of challenges and obstacles, but also of great satisfaction when you manage to impact the lives of others,” he concluded.
