Venezuela thanked Namibia for its solidarity and condolences sent in memory of the more than one hundred people killed during the illegal bombing carried out by the United States.
“On behalf of the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela, we express our sincerest gratitude for the message of solidarity sent by the Government of the president of Namibia, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah,” Gil said in a post on his Instagram account.
The Venezuelan Foreign Minister explained that the message from the Government of Namibia was transmitted through the Prime Minister, Elija Ngurare, “who was kind enough to visit our embassy” and sign the book of condolences in memory of the more than one hundred people killed in the illegal bombing carried out by the United States.
He also asserted that Venezuela deeply values Namibia's firm rejection of the kidnapping of constitutional president Nicolás Maduro and his wife, the deputy Cilia Flores.
“We appreciate your successful call for the unity of our peoples in the defense of international law and the Charter of the United Nations (UN), who are in a critical situation following the events of January 3,” he said.
The message sent by the Namibian government emphasized that President Nicolás Maduro was already and remains at this time the legitimate president of Venezuela, democratically elected by his people.
