The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, extended his thanks to South Africa for the prompt convening of a session of the Security Council of the United Nations (UN) in the face of the military aggression of the United States (USA) against Venezuela.
“The Bolivarian Government and the People of Venezuela
express their sincerest gratitude to South Africa for its prompt convening of
a session of the UN Security Council, in response to the
unilateral military action of the United States against Venezuela, which constitutes a
flagrant violation of the Charter of the United Nations,” Gil said through his channel
Telegram.
He also valued South Africa's urgent
call to all UN Member States to refrain from
threatening or using force against the territorial integrity or political
independence of any nation.
He reaffirmed that in the face of the threat posed by the United States to the Peoples of the world, “it is imperative that we act with unity and determination to safeguard the sovereignty and rights of all nations.”
