Venezuela thanks China for its rejection of the seizure of oil tankers

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, thanked the People's Republic of China for its firm defense of international law and its rejection of the practices of unilateral hegemony of the United States (USA).

This was announced by the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, through his Telegram channel, in which he stressed that “these actions have included the assault on vessels carrying Venezuelan oil, which constitutes a violation of the Charter of the United Nations Organization and of the fundamental principles of sovereignty and self-determination.”

He also deeply valued the support for Venezuela's legitimate right to freely develop trade. “We express our sincere gratitude,” he said.

The Government of China categorically condemned the arbitrary seizure of tankers carrying Venezuelan oil by the United States, considering that this action seriously violates international law and the basic principles governing relations between States.
