The government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, through the People's Power Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil thanked China for its firm stance urging the United States (USA) to release President Nicolás Maduro Moros and to stop attempts to subvert order in the country.

Foreign Minister Yván Gil, through his Telegram channel, responded to the People's Republic of China after he expressed serious concern about the forced control by the United States of President Maduro and his wife and their transfer out of the country.

“The actions of the United States clearly violate international law and the basic norms of international relations, and violate the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations. China urges the United States to guarantee the personal security of President Maduro and his wife, release them immediately, stop subverting the Venezuelan regime and resolve the issue through dialogue and negotiation,” details the letter published by the Asian embassy in Colombia.
