On behalf of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, this Friday the Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, thanked his counterpart from Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, for his solidarity in the face of the new theft of a Venezuelan plane by the United States (USA).
Through his Telegram channel, Gil celebrated the position of the Cuban diplomat “for his firm rejection of the recent act of piracy perpetrated by Washington illegally confiscating a PDVSA plane, with the complicity of the Government of the Dominican Republic.”
After learning about the US action, Rodríguez pointed out that the current US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, “intends to become the sheriff of Latin America and the Caribbean.”
In addition, he stressed that the illegal confiscation of the Venezuelan plane “incurs a condemnable and arbitrary act of modern piracy that violates international law and the Charter of the United Nations.”
