Venezuela thanks Iran's support in the face of threats of foreign incursion

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for its solid support to the request of the Bolivarian nation to the Security Council of the United Nations (UN).

“Their support is crucial in the search for measures protected by the UN Charter to stop the growing military escalation in the Caribbean, which jeopardizes the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Venezuela, as well as the peace and stability of the entire region,” said the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, through his Telegram channel.

In a publication published by the Islamic News Agency, the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry described the recent military and provocative actions of the United States in the Caribbean region and Latin America, especially against Venezuela, as a threat to regional peace and security, and warned of the consequences of the expansion of illegality and unilateralism the North American country's belligerent for world peace and stability.

The Iranian diplomat urged the Security Council and the United Nations Secretary General to pay immediate attention to the dangerous situation resulting from the United States' insistence on illegally intervening in Venezuela's internal affairs.
