Venezuela thanks Japan and Spain for the support sent to assist the population affected by the recent earthquakes.

This was reported by the Minister of People's Power for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, who highlighted the arrival of eighteen tons of humanitarian assistance sent by the Japanese Government to reinforce care efforts.

In this regard, Jiménez indicated that the sectoral vice-president of Science, Technology, Ecosocialism and Health, Isabel Iturria, received the endowment together with the Japanese ambassador to Venezuela, Yasushi Sato, and this meeting reaffirmed the cooperation ties that both nations maintain in terms of humanitarian support.

He also specified that the Government of Spain, through the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, installed a field hospital in the vicinity of the Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda Park in order to strengthen the medical response capacity for the population affected by seismic events.

Minister Jiménez noted that international support has been decisive in advancing the care and recovery of communities and affirmed that Venezuela recognizes the support of countries that have offered cooperation in this process.
