The
Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, on behalf of President Nicolás
Maduro, expressed his gratitude to Nicaragua for the message
commemorating the 204th anniversary of the Battle of Carabobo.
“We sincerely appreciate your message of
reflection on the unity and peace of our peoples on this 204th anniversary
of the heroic and victorious Battle of Carabobo, led by Simon Bolivar, the
great architect of the dream of Latin American unity, and fought by a
noble people who took charge of their own destiny,” wrote the diplomat.
The Sandinista nation issued a statement to Venezuela stating that “to celebrate Carabobo is to celebrate Bolivar, the Great, the Liberator; the Dreamer, the Indissoluble Leader of our Courageous and Irreducible Unity, and to celebrate the inviolable Spirit of Struggles and Victories that characterizes us, ratifying our Union, to continue defending Respect and Concord as a Way of Life of the Human Community”.
