Venezuela thanks Russia for rejecting illegal and destructive intervention by the United States

The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, on behalf of the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, thanked the Russian Federation for its solidarity with the Latin American nation after the illegal military attack carried out by the United States (USA) on January 3.

“Venezuela and Russia are sister nations and strategic allies. The Bolivarian Government expresses its deep gratitude for Russia's statement in support of the demand for a sovereign nation, particularly in the defense of the release of President Nicolás Maduro and the First Combatant Cilia Flores,” the Venezuelan Foreign Minister highlighted on his Telegram channel.

Caracas also valued Moscow's support for the domestic constitutional order, “which is fully guaranteed under the direction of the President in Charge Delcy Rodríguez, as established by our laws.”

“We also appreciate your firm call to respect for the self-determination of the Venezuelan people and your rejection of illegal and destructive external intervention, motivated by neocolonial interests,” he emphasized.
